I have had my guinea pig for about 6 months now and he has been getting these bald spots on his back and his legs due to itching and chewing at himself. So i brought him to the vet and they put him on some liquid saying it was mites/mange… well after 3 weeks and it was somewhat working on the legs but worsening on the back we stopped it and he put him on a cream which is ketoconazole saying it might be a fungus well i used to for 3 days and it wasn’t working it was making this even more worse and making my guinea pig mad… Any suggestion on what to do… There aren’t any more vets around here to bring him to; and the vet is usually open to suggestion that i say… Please help
I have attempted to try to rid my body of yeast, dairy, and gluten but what is left to eat I am stumped.
I thought oatmeal had gluten in it
I have an eye infection, probably Keretitis. Ive had this before and have the same signs. Anyway I have an appointment to get it checked out tomorrow but im pregnant this time around and im wondering what is a safe drop to use. From what I found on the internet Tobradex is untested on pregnant women but this is what my doctor has always prescribed for conjunctivitis and this Kerititis. Has anyone ever had an eye infection while pregnant? What did you use?
I have very flaky and peely skin on my face (eyebrows, forehead, nose, cheeks, chin) for the past 5 years.
Lotions don’t work. I don’t have any medical issues (checked thyroid, liver, kidneys, etc)
I’m assuming it’s a fungus?
However, it’s not itchy.
When I tried 2 antifungal creams, it didn’t work.
Do I need a pill?
Or is this just…. not a fungus?
thank you so much for your advice.

I have fungus on both big toes. I have any appointment next week but i have had this problem for over a month. Due to the holidays it has been hard getting a foot doctor that is not on vacation and the receptionist tell me that its o.k. to wait. But i have been sick lately, nausua, and i feel like my body is burning from the inside out. Can this fungus turn into an infection that would cause you to feel ill.
I noticed a small red, rashy spot on the very top of my thigh about a month ago. It is close to my groin area but on the thigh. I have HSV1, the genital kind, so I thought that it was the beginning of an outbreak, and I didn’t worry about it too much. Thing is though, I still have the rash and I have never had an outbreak last this long. In fact, the only thing close to an outbreak I’ve ever had was the first occurence of herpes, when I 1st got it and was diagnosed with it. Last week I called a RN at Planned Parenthood and she called in a script for Acyclovir 200 mg to take 3X daily for 5 days. That is kind of a lot of meds right? I took the medicine as prescibed and rash is still there. Then I went to another Dr. the other day who told me it didn’t look like herpes or any kind of infection really, just looked like a fungus/jock itch and prescribed me Ketoconazole topical cream. How long will it take to work? The insert that came with it said to apply for 2 weeks or until symptoms resolve. Will it really take that long??? I want to wear a bathing suit soon and I can’t with this ugly rash on me!
I quite yeast and sugar, upped my vitamin and vegetable intake. How long until I recover (just a ball park)?
Any holistic suggestions?
I don’t to go to the doctor because with all this swine going around I would most likely end up sicker than I already am. Could you post so ways to treat an ear infection at home? Thank you!
I’ve had a slight whitening under the 1/4 left part of my left hand ring finger nail. I noticed that that part of the nail was separated from the nail bed so I carefully cut the disconnected white part away so I could add tropical remedy creams for what I gathered was a fungal infection. (classic symptoms: ridged nail, whitening, slight discoloration of nail bed, etc)
Now, with that done it doesn’t seem to be improving at all. The nail is still rather ridged and not as smooth as all my other nails. And it doesn’t seem that the part I cut away, and is growing back is going to connect to the nail bed SO my question is do you think it is better to have the entire nail (3/4 of it) removed to allow growth of a complete new one? …Or should I try some other remedy that I have yet to try; like oral meds or the like.
Any sound advice (professional or not) would be greatly appreciated.
