Is candida really something i should be worried about, or is it just a scam?
I was told by my acupuncturist that i probably have candida and that i should do a cleanse… i think i might have it, but on the other hand i’ve heard that they tell everyone that they have candida.

candida is nasty stuff… you could live all your life without doing anything about it, but you would keep on having all sorts of physical issues caused by candida.
some of the issues that stem from candida (or candidiasis) are
fibromyalgia
IBS
rashes,
acid reflux
arthritis
skin eruptions
yeast infections
athlete’s foot
and others…..
cancer often involves yeast infections, and the first step in eliminating cancer via natural methods, is a candidiasis cleanse, to eliminate the candida funus from the system (this is why cancer chemotherapy often eliminates many symptoms of candidiasis.
If you follow your acupuncturist’s suggestion, you would be wise to do a one to two month colon cleanse, such as ParaGone (one of the best I have seen, and what I use personally and recommend to my clients.)
If you want to eliminate candidiasis forever, it would be wise to read "The Yeast Connection Handbook" by Dr. William Crook (this is the first and still most authoritative book on candidiasis and how to eliminate it. As far as I am concerned, if you have this book, you do not need any other book — I continue to look a candidiasis books, but I have found no other book which covers the issue so thoroughly, suggests "nutritional supplements" to eliminate the condition, and provides dietary therapy information.
generally,
candida albicans is also known as thrush. You can get it in the mouth or in the vagina. It is usually noticed as an offensive white discharge. In the mouth it causes changes in taste. In the vagina it is quite smelly and very itchy.
If you dont have symptoms like this you probably dont have candida. If you do, you should get some cream to remove it/.
candida is a yeast infection and what the other girl said, if you don’t have those symptoms your acupuncturist is full of bologna. Bump up your consumption of sugar free yogurt and back off on sugar consumption for a while though. sugar feeds yeast infections and I have been told that when person is in the early stages, they sometimes crave sugar.
Before I got into the field - I suffered from candida. Things I experienced were poor digestion, low energy and skin irritation. I did a detox, changed my diet and got onto the right supplements and my problems went away.
Candida continues to grow when you eat highly processed food, starchy foods and sugar.
Not everyone may suffer from candida but I’m sure if you do a cleanse/detox you’ll notice the difference.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.
Some blame candida for lots of things, so it can look like a scam. But try a cleanse, and there is a good chance you will notice benefits yourself. Try watching your diet for sugar etc, and that will help too.
May be its not a scam, you can go to a doctor. Here are some herbal treatments for Candida.
1. Lemon verbena has anti-Candida albicans activity.
2. Effectiveness of topical tea tree oil preparations for Candidiasis is supported by their ability to kill Candida in vitro.
You can see the full treatment at Mamaherb.
Liquid chlorophyll as well as apple cider vinegar are both supposed to help for the prevention and treatment of candida. They are both good colon cleansers.
