I don’t think it’s just dry skin.
Try putting polysporin on the tips of her ears, this will releive any discomfort until you can get her to the vet.
Is your dog left outside? Maybe it could be fly bites.
That sounds like some sort of an infection, not dry skin which would show up like dandruff on the skin.
For a temp fit you can put some mineral oil on the ears and it may smooth it until the vet tells you what to do.
My dog had a bit of dry skin on the ends of his ears. It turned out that he had an ear infection and because of him shaking his head and smacking his ears around he obtained small scabs on the end. If your dog is an outside dog, however, these could be fly bites. They have things on the market that you could use to keep the flies at bay but now that the weather is getting cooler they shouldn’t be such a problem. I would definitely get that looked at by your vet, though!
You can go to K-mart and buy some medicated shampoo and ointment. I used SULFODENE and it cleared up my Aussie Shephard. Also, did you just put on new flea collar? That’s when my dogs skin became itchy. Try that it helps. GOOD LUCK.
I had a dog that had a problem like that when I took I to the vet the vet told me that the cause of it was a certain kind of fly. He said that the fly eats away at its ears. He gave me a type of medicine to stop the flies I haven’t had a problem with my dogs ears ever since. So I suggest that you take it to the vet.
