I noticed a small red, rashy spot on the very top of my thigh about a month ago. It is close to my groin area but on the thigh. I have HSV1, the genital kind, so I thought that it was the beginning of an outbreak, and I didn’t worry about it too much. Thing is though, I still have the rash and I have never had an outbreak last this long. In fact, the only thing close to an outbreak I’ve ever had was the first occurence of herpes, when I 1st got it and was diagnosed with it. Last week I called a RN at Planned Parenthood and she called in a script for Acyclovir 200 mg to take 3X daily for 5 days. That is kind of a lot of meds right? I took the medicine as prescibed and rash is still there. Then I went to another Dr. the other day who told me it didn’t look like herpes or any kind of infection really, just looked like a fungus/jock itch and prescribed me Ketoconazole topical cream. How long will it take to work? The insert that came with it said to apply for 2 weeks or until symptoms resolve. Will it really take that long??? I want to wear a bathing suit soon and I can’t with this ugly rash on me!

So about 4 months ago i have been experiencing some weird, short, burning, 30sec, irritated feelings on one part of my little guy. It happens basically everyday but not all the time. I’ve been tested for the basic StDs but not herpes. I havent had any sores or anything like that. Just a little red irritated patches that are really hard to notice. My Dr. said it was prob from my soap or detergent so i changed both and it still bothers me. I’ve applied hydorcortosone, ketoconazole (usually used for jock itch) and now im trying desitin cream. I’m tired of going to the health clinic and my Dr. cause i feel one embarrassed and two like im annoying them. I really need to figure this out cause it is ruining my sex life… Can ANYONE please help me?

P.S. I had unprotected sex (stupid i know) with 2 different ppl. One of them was a year ago and only happened once and the other was about 6 months ago, that happened twice.

Okay so I was dating this guy and we broke up and we recently started talking again. He first told me he thinks he might have herpes. Then today he told me he want to the ER and they told him it could either be Fungus, Yeast Infection, or Herpes. But they said if it was herpes then it would be all over. He said it looks like day and blisters, and gets really dry and bleeds sometimes. What do you think this would be? He said it was in his pubic area like where the hair is. I think he is thinking he got it from me but I know I was clean before I dated him because I got tested. And now it is kind of pissing me off because everything that is happening. I plan on getting tested again soon. Do yo know if my parents would have to be with me? Because I am under the age of eighteen.

I have had this problem since 10 months ago. I have been checked and tested for STD by doctors. I was tested positive for vaginal Herpes. According to the doctor I have no longer Herpes for which I was cured by medicine. However, I continue to have the yellow discharge. I can see the discharge on my underwear and when I wipe myself. I have no other symptoms such as pain, itchiness, discomfort, etc. The doctor believes that my Herpes is cured, and that I have no infection. He has prescribed Ketoconazole and Povidone Iodine gel. I have not used them yet as I am not sure if I would benefit from them. I would like to understand why I have the yellow discharge and what causes it.

For further information, I am 29 years old and single. I seldom have sex, perhaps 3 to 4 times a year.

Hey guys, I’m hoping you can help me out.

To start, I haven’t had sex in 2 years and I’ve only been with 2 women in my life and I’ve never had these symptoms. Since yesturday, my groin area (penis head, shaft and testicles) have developed these really nasty red spots. Some bigger then others. I bought this anti-fungal cream and it’s helping with the itching but the redness and the spots do not go away.

I’ve looked at pictures of jock itch, herpes and warts and it’s really hard to tell what it looks like. I don’t think it’s herpes or warts since I do not have pain or discomfort when I urinate and have not had flu-like symptoms. I think it’s a fungus infection. Like 3 days ago, I masterbated with a sex toy but didn’t wash it before using it. I also didn’t wash myself with soap afterwards, just with water. And I went to the gym at night and sweated. I had a fungal infection once when I was younger but it was just two big spots. These are several spots.

Any ideas?

One day of just being careless and not that futurespective, I negligently refused to recognize the bump on my face as a fever blister. I wiped my eye, picked my nose. Whatever. Now I’m super scared about having an extra case of eye herpes and nose herpes. How long after initial infection do the symptoms (minor flu, bloodshot eyes, etc) start to show themselves? Keep in mind I’m not talking about a herpes outbreak, but the subtle symptoms that indicate you have herpes.

Is periodic recurrance of itch & symptoms of Herpes common to all kinds of Herpes or just the Simplex?
