How long can a person have blood infection?
The reason I ask is that i would basically like to know if it is possible for an infection to enter the system even if it was mild, and how long bacteria would be in the blood?
I had two infections in one go, both treated with antibiotics, I was still feeling ill so I had some blood tests including Full Blood Count and Blood Cultures among other tests, the tests all came back perfectly clear. But I have been getting worse and I am now getting told that it is all psychological.
However, I would like to know how long a person can have blood infection/sepsis? Would having had antibiotics mask the test results?

Very good questions. I cannot answer them, I am sorry, but I will advise that you get a second opinion from someone other than the one who told you it was in your head. A blood infection is very serious, and can be difficult to diagnose as well. Get yourself to another doctor ASAP, and tell them your worries. Doctors are not omnipotent, but they do have egos, and they don’t like being challenged in their diagnoses, so maybe that’s where the "in your head" business came from. They tend to stick to diagnosing and treating the usual, common maladies, so you need to be proactive. Just keep being a pest til you get treatment that makes you feel better. Good luck and take care!
i dont think a serious infection cannot last very long without some more serious consequences you would have experienced so far…..what were your symptoms? because i also did the blood culture tests because i have had low grade temperature for 3 months now…
